What Can Invisalign First[TM] Help With?
What Can Invisalign First[TM] Help With?
Invisalign First aligners are designed toaddress a range of developing concerns in growing children.
At SmileOrthodontics, Dr. Chakote most often looks at:
Crowding. When there isn't enough room, teeth overlap or erupt crooked, and they're harder to clean. Creating space early gives permanent teeth room to come in where they belong.
Gaps and spacing. Guiding teeth into better positions while your child is still growing can help set up a healthier bite.
Narrow dental arches. A narrow upper or lower arch can leave little room for adult teeth. Early treatment can help develop the arch to make space.
Not every concern is an aligner concern. We'll always recommend what's right for your child's case, not just the most popular option.

Invisalign First™ is a clear aligner systemdesigned for children ages 6 to 10 who still have a mix of baby and permanentteeth. It's used in Phase 1 (early) treatment to help create room for incomingpermanent teeth and guide developing dental arches, using smooth, removablealigners instead of brackets and wires.
Invisalign First is designed for children ages6 to 10 with mixed dentition. Age is only part of the picture, though. Thestage of tooth eruption and the specific bite concern matter most. The AmericanAssociation of Orthodontists recommends a first check-up when a problem isnoticed, and no later than age 7, so we can tell you whether to start now orkeep watching growth.
A check-up is not the same as startingtreatment. Many children simply need to be monitored while their permanentteeth come in. Dr. Chakote only recommends early treatment when it offers areal benefit. If your child isn't ready, we'll keep an eye on their growth andlet you know when the time is right.
Invisalign First aligners are designed toaddress developing concerns such as crowding, gaps and spacing, and narrowdental arches. Some bite problems, like certain underbites, crossbites, orjaw-growth concerns, may be better served by braces or another early appliance. We'll recommend what fits your child's case, not just the most popular option.
You can expect mild pressure or tendernesswhen your child starts a new set of aligners. That's a normal sign that teethare moving, and it usually fades within a few days. Because the aligners aresmooth plastic, there are no rubbing brackets or poking wires.
Neither is better for every child. InvisalignFirst is clear, removable, and easy to keep clean, but it depends on your childwearing it consistently. Digital metal braces are fixed, so there's nocompliance worry, and they can be the better choice for some bite problems. Dr.Chakote will recommend the option that fits your child.
